Apollo Hospitals Group completed 500 pediatric liver transplants with a 90% success rate. The Apollo Transplant program provides cutting-edge therapies, such as treating liver and kidney illness, liver and kidney transplantation, heart and lung transplantation, intestine, pancreatic, and GI transplant procedures, and pediatric transplant services.

Organ transplantation is an astounding feat of medicine and a wonderful act of human charity. This accomplishment highlights our dedication to enhancing pediatric liver transplantation and giving our patients the best care possible. India is quickly becoming a global leader in organ transplantation, according to Dr. Prathap C Reddy, founder, and chairman of the Apollo Hospitals Group.

Around 50 different nations send their liver transplant patients to Apollo Hospitals. Patients from many countries, such as the Philippines, Indonesia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan, Pakistan, Kenya, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Sudan, Tanzania, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Myanmar, and many others, have discovered transformative and affordable treatments in India. In India, a patient can have a liver transplant at a reasonable cost with good results.

Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals Group Medical Director and Senior Pediatric Gastroenterologist Dr. Anupam Sibal in New Delhi expressed pride at having attained this milestone and gratitude for the opportunity to assist so many children and families. ABO-incompatible transplants, small babies weighing as little as 4 kg, and transplants in children and infants with serious medical conditions have been overcome. 45% of patients are now girls, and the 500th is a newborn girl.

Dr. Neerav Goyal, a Senior Consultant and Liver Transplant surgeon at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals New Delhi,  said they can now execute the most challenging liver transplants on infants, even when the blood arteries are as little as 3–4 mm in size. A multidisciplinary team is required for pediatric liver transplantation; cooperation between team members is essential for success.
